Follow the beautiful winding Alpine Road over the Santa Cruz mountains to get to Pescadero. Just south is Pescadero beach. From the top of the mountains on Alpine Road you can usually see the ocean, but the day I painted this the ocean was obscured by a thick Spring fog, so it was a long drive just for a walk on the beach. But just as I was ready to give up and leave the fog cleared and I rushed to set up my easel on the beach near these small sandstone bluffs.
