A contract farmer, after whom I’ve named this painting, stopped and talked with me as I painted this amazing house. He runs farming operations for wineries and has for some time. He remembers that the house was moved here several years ago. Clearly it was intended for restoration, but it sits very stark and windblown on a hill overlooking Salinas Valley. On the left in the far distance are the Pinnacles.
