One early morning in a hay field at the northern end of Coyote Valley, (south of San Jose and north of Morgan Hill), I had trespassed onto private farmland that’s slated for development into a “corporate campus.” As I painted, a line of pickup trucks appeared and came toward me down the little road. A man in a truck stopped and asked, “Do you have permission to be here?” “No”, I admitted. He said, “You do now,” and drove off.
